Yomoo Privacy Policy

This policy explains how the book tracking app Yomoo (the “App”) handles information. The App does not require a Yomoo account. The contents of your reading records are generally stored on your device, but some App features send information to external services as described below.

1. Information stored on your device

Book information, reading status, dates, ratings, notes, tags, photos, rereading records, and settings are stored in a database or app storage on your device. The provider does not operate a proprietary server for storing these records.

If you create a backup, export a CSV file, or share an image, data is transferred to the destination you choose. The destination service's terms and privacy practices apply after sharing.

2. Information sent outside your device

Book search and cover images

The search feature sends search terms, author names, ISBNs, language, and similar information to book data providers such as Google Books, Rakuten Books, Kakao, the National Diet Library of Japan, the German National Library, Open Library, lobid, and Amazon, or to Yomoo APIs that connect to those providers. Displaying a cover image also sends a request to its image provider. These services may process ordinary request information such as your IP address, request time, and User-Agent. Yomoo's supplemental search API may cache results for up to seven days using a hash of the search parameters.

Usage and diagnostics

We use Google Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, Performance Monitoring, and In-App Messaging to improve quality and investigate failures. They may process feature and screen events, types of settings, a range representing the number of books, purchase status, app, OS and device information, IP address, crash details, stack traces, and network performance. We do not intend to send book titles, author names, note text, or photo contents to Firebase Analytics.

Advertising and consent

The App initializes Google Mobile Ads SDK and displays ads from Google AdMob and advertising mediation providers, primarily in the free version. Where required, Google User Messaging Platform manages consent. Advertising identifiers, device information, approximate location inferred from IP address, ad impressions and interactions, diagnostic information, and consent choices may be processed for ad delivery, measurement, and fraud prevention. Non-personalized or limited ads may be shown depending on your consent choices. When “Ad privacy choices” is available in the App's settings, you can use it to review or change your consent choices. You can change operating-system advertising tracking permission in your device settings.

Fonts

If you select certain fonts, the App retrieves font data from Google Fonts. Google may process ordinary request information such as your IP address, request time, and User-Agent.

Purchases and subscriptions

Premium features use Apple App Store or Google Play and RevenueCat. An anonymous app user ID, store country or region, product identifiers, purchase, renewal and expiration dates, entitlement status, and related diagnostics are processed to validate and restore purchases, prevent fraud, and provide support. The App does not directly collect your name or payment card number.

Support and feedback

If you submit a support request or feedback, the text you enter and optional email address, together with app version, device and OS information, device identifiers, purchase status, and purchase diagnostics, are sent to the provider's Slack workspace for support and troubleshooting. Submitting a request is optional.

Legacy Google Drive backup restore

If an existing user chooses the legacy restore feature, the App uses Google Sign-In and Google Drive API to retrieve file metadata and old backup files from Yomoo's app-specific storage area in Google Drive. This feature operates only after your action and Google authorization. The current App does not upload new backups to Google Drive. Signing out does not delete old backups from Google Drive. To delete them, manage Yomoo's hidden app data in your Google Account.

3. Purposes

4. External services

Each provider's terms and privacy policy apply to information processed by its service.

5. Retention and deletion

Information stored on your device remains until you delete it in the App or uninstall the App. Backups and shared data are managed at the destination you choose.

Support information and Yomoo API or server logs are kept only as long as necessary to respond, troubleshoot, maintain security, and comply with law, after which they are deleted or anonymized. Information held by external services is retained under each provider's policies. You may request access to or deletion of information controlled by the provider using the contact address below.

6. Your choices and rights

You can change permissions for photos, camera, advertising tracking, Google Account access, and similar features in the App, operating system, or relevant service settings. Revoking permission may disable the related feature. To exercise rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, or objection available under applicable law, contact us below.

7. International processing

External services may process information outside your country of residence. Such processing is subject to safeguards offered by those providers and applicable law.

8. Changes to this policy

We may revise this policy when the App, external services, or applicable laws change. Material changes will be announced on this page or in the App where appropriate.
